Chapter 4

In the perspective of Green

Green's Turn.

'H-h-Hey guys, I think the doll just blinked.' Across the board, Yellow said hesitantly, with a tinge of fear in her voice.

' Come on, Yellow. Do you really believe that a doll, a paper one at that, will blink? Grow up.' I scoffed again. I could not believe I was stuck here with a loony. Seriously, a doll blinking?

'B-b-but. '

'Just keep your mouth shut, why can't you?' Red shouted, his voice eerily loud in the quiet place.

The atmosphere grew more tense. All of us were afraid, nervous. Who knows what could happen to us at the next instant? We waited impatiently for the next person to be called. Nothing happened. Suddenly without warning, the surrounding area became darker, like it was night time.

Then......the dice rolled from a corner of the board, showing the number one.

Like a storm cloud, the hand in green leather hovered above me. It was my turn. Being in its grasp was like being in the clutches of a reptile. I landed, just a stone's throw away from were I was initially. And fortunately so, this way I would be close to Blue and she wouldn't feel to afraid and alone. 'SHICCC. zic. SHICCC. zic.' The square tile like shape in front of me grew wider and wider till it became the size of a square table. In an instant, the tile disappeared down below. No sound could be heard that indicated that it had reached the bottom. A green note, in a shape of a leaf floated upwards from the hole as if it was being lifted by something unseen. It tilted backwards and forward till the note faced me. Was it my turn?

' What is it? What is it? What's happening?' Red asked curiously.

Before I could answer, a slanted cursive handwriting started appearing before my eyes. 

We won't be mean, 

My friend green.

You will know more,

About what you have seen.

Wha-? Seen? What does it mean? I will be seeing something soon? Or was it before?

It was silent again. Noticing that nothing weird is happening. I shared glances with Blue. Blue shrugged and turned away,  hugging her chest.  Then, out of the sudden, the world was rotating around me, gradually, then faster and faster. I felt light, like a feather, like I could fly, and my feet, they felt like they could take off from the ground...any moment..any moment now....

"Hey Green, you okay?" Yellow asked, with some concern.

"THUD" I fell backwards, on the soft, warm grass, that pricked my skin gently. My eyes, felt heavy, like someone was pulling the heavy curtains of my eyes shut. My vision blurred.

'No! Green! Don't leave alone! Don't....' I heard someone crying from a distance. Blue? I tried to reach out towards her, to comfort her that i would be alright, but my arms felt like lead. I couldn't lift up at all.

That was the last thing I heard...

Darkness fell.
